In line with the community-driven development agenda, Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo has inaugurated a newly completed five-kilometre road constructed by Chief Anthony Obele, a private investor and proud indigene of Ezinifite in Aguata Local Government Area. Delivered through the state’s innovative Public-Private-Community Partnership (PPCP) initiative championed by Governor Soludo, the project marks a significant milestone in Anambra State’s infrastructure development and underscores the power of collaborative progress.
Distinct from conventional government-funded road projects, the road holds special significance as it is located within the Governor’s own community, lending the commissioning a deeply personal touch. Stretching across key parts of Ezinifite, the newly asphalted road is expected to improve mobility, stimulate local economic activities, and significantly enhance the quality of life for residents who depend on the route for daily movement and trade.
Christian Aburime, the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, said Governor Chukwuma Soludo, while commissioning the project, commended Chief Anthony Obele for his exemplary dedication to community development. The governor described the initiative as a sustainable model that goes beyond the limits of government intervention, noting that it reflects the power of collective effort. He emphasized that partnerships which combine private commitment, public backing, and community involvement are critical to accelerating infrastructure development across Anambra State.
Reflecting on the wider significance of such initiatives, Governor Soludo stressed that development cannot be achieved by government alone at the pace required. He acknowledged the contributions of Anambra indigenes across the globe who continue to excel and give back to their homeland, urging others to follow their example. According to him, enduring progress is rooted in shared responsibility and a deep commitment to one’s community.
Aburime further quoted the governor as saying, “Once you do this kind of thing, call me, I will be there to commission it,” underscoring that genuine leadership is demonstrated through personal investment in community infrastructure. Governor Soludo also noted that even modest contributions—such as paving a few meters of road—can have meaningful impact when undertaken for the collective good rather than personal gain.

For the people of Ezinifite particularly the Traditional Ruler and the President General the newly commissioned road represents far more than physical infrastructure.
