The Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF) has further strengthened security operations across Lagos State with the donation of an operational patrol vehicle and 2,250 raincoats to three frontline security agencies — the Rapid Response Squad (RRS), Lagos State Neighbourhood Safety Corps (LNSC), and the Lagos State Taskforce.
The intervention, made on behalf of the Executive Secretary/Chief Executive Officer of LSSTF, Dr. Ayodele Ogunsan, underscores the Fund’s continued commitment to improving the operational capacity, welfare and preparedness of security personnel responsible for safeguarding lives and property across the state.
The presentation ceremony, held at the LSSTF headquarters in Alausa, was led by the Fund’s Director of Administration, Mr. Adegbola Lewis, who represented Dr. Ogunsan. He presented one patrol vehicle and 1,000 raincoats to the Rapid Response Squad of the Lagos State Police Command.
The items were received on behalf of the RRS Commander, CSP Shola Jejeloye, by the squad’s Administrative Officer, DSP Saka Ayodele. Other officers present included the Station Officer, ASP Oladele Ajayi, and the Commander’s Personal Assistant, Inspector Dan Idris.
The LSSTF also provided 1,000 raincoats to the Lagos State Neighbourhood Safety Corps to enhance the effectiveness of its officers during community surveillance and public safety operations, particularly throughout the rainy season.
Receiving the items on behalf of the General Manager, Prince Ifalade Oyekan, was the Deputy Director, Operations and Monitoring, Mr. Ajao Lateef, alongside the Deputy Director of Operations, Mr. Nurudeen Rasak, and Principal Finance and Accounts Officer, Mr. Ogunseyin Oluwole.
Similarly, the Lagos State Taskforce received 250 raincoats to support its enforcement duties and environmental security activities across the state. The items were received on behalf of the Chairman, CSP Adetayo Akerele, by the agency’s Operations Officer, SP Adewale Adeyemi.
Speaking through his representative, Dr. Ogunsan reaffirmed LSSTF’s dedication to providing sustained logistical support to security agencies, stressing that effective security management requires not only advanced equipment but also the welfare, safety and operational readiness of personnel on the frontline.
He noted that the latest intervention aligns with the Fund’s broader strategy of supporting the Lagos State Government’s security vision through targeted investments in mobility, protective equipment, technology and capacity development.
The LSSTF reiterated that such initiatives remain central to its mission of strengthening security architecture and contributing to the continued safety and stability of Lagos State.
