Football icon Cristiano Ronaldo and his long-time partner, Georgina Rodríguez, are reportedly set to exchange marital vows this weekend in Madeira, Portugal, the birthplace and hometown of the five-time Ballon d’Or winner.
According to reports, the couple has chosen Madeira as the location for their wedding ceremony, with the historic Funchal Cathedral in the island’s capital said to have been reserved for the event.
The wedding is expected to hold on Saturday, August 8, 2026, while the reception is reportedly scheduled to take place at the luxurious Savoy Palace hotel in Funchal.
Ronaldo, 41, who was born and raised in Funchal, and Georgina, 32, began their relationship in 2016 after meeting in Spain. The pair have since built a family together and remained one of the most recognised celebrity couples in the world.
The Portugal national team captain reportedly proposed to Georgina in August 2025, while recent public appearances, including sightings of the couple wearing diamond rings during a yacht outing in Majorca, further intensified speculation about their wedding plans.
Ronaldo had previously spoken about his desire to marry Georgina, revealing that he hoped to walk into the ceremony after winning the FIFA World Cup.
“I hope to arrive at my wedding with the champion’s trophy,” the Al-Nassr forward had said during an interview with Piers Morgan.
The former Manchester United and Real Madrid star has described Georgina as the first partner he has been with whom he truly envisioned settling down.
