Kwara State University (KWASU) was filled with music, excitement and youthful creativity as Soundcity OnTour brought its 2026 campus experience to the institution on October 31, featuring live performances, talent discovery and entertainment.
The event provided students with an opportunity to celebrate music and showcase their creative abilities, bringing together emerging campus artistes and established music stars.
A major highlight was the Bigi Music Competition, which offered aspiring musicians a platform to demonstrate their talents and gain wider recognition. Adegbenro Abdulateef, popularly known as Yomide, emerged winner of the competition. Ige Samuel Oluwadamilare, known as Voice Boy, finished as first runner-up, while Amuda Abdulazeem, performing as Hazzi The Hollow, secured the second runner-up position.
The competition gave the participants valuable exposure, allowing them to perform before a live audience, build confidence and take their musical ambitions beyond the university environment. It also highlighted the growing creative potential among Nigerian university students.
The entertainment continued with performances from Kinglex, Kodee, Slimcase, Marrz and Muyeez, who thrilled the audience and added excitement to the campus experience.
Sponsored by Bigi and Fearless Energy Drink, Soundcity OnTour continues to bring music, entertainment and talent discovery to university communities across Nigeria.
For Bigi, the competition provides an opportunity to connect with young Nigerians through music while creating platforms for emerging artistes to showcase their abilities. The initiative also reflects the brand’s commitment to celebrating creativity, individuality and self-expression among young people.
Similarly, Fearless Energy Drink aligns with the energy, confidence and ambition of the younger generation, complementing the experience by encouraging students to embrace their individuality and express themselves.
The KWASU edition further demonstrated the importance of campus entertainment in bringing students together and creating opportunities for emerging creatives to gain visibility and recognition.
As Soundcity OnTour continues its journey across universities in Nigeria, the initiative remains focused on providing engaging experiences that combine entertainment with opportunities for young talents to develop and reach wider audiences.
