Zamfara State Governor, Dauda Lawal, has expressed deep sorrow over the death of the Sarkin Zamfaran Zurmi, Alhaji Bello Sulaiman.
The traditional ruler died on Monday at the Federal Medical Centre, Gusau, according to a statement issued by the governor’s spokesperson, Sulaiman Bala Idris, on Tuesday.
Governor Lawal described the monarch’s death as a profound loss to his family, the Zurmi Emirate, the traditional institution and the people of Zamfara State.
The governor commended the late monarch for his service to his people and his contributions to the traditional institution, particularly his commitment to peace and the progress of the state.
Lawal said the late Sarkin Zamfaran Zurmi would be remembered for his dedication to his people and his efforts toward promoting peace and development.
He extended his condolences to the deceased’s family, the Zurmi Emirate Council and the people of the emirate, urging them to find strength during the period of mourning.
The governor also prayed to Almighty Allah to forgive the monarch’s shortcomings, reward his good deeds and grant him Aljannah Firdaus.
He further prayed for strength and fortitude for the family, the emirate and the people of Zamfara State to bear the loss.
The death of Alhaji Bello Sulaiman has left a significant void in the traditional institution of Zamfara State, with tributes highlighting his service, leadership and commitment to peace.
