JMG Solar Projects to Deliver Over ₦152m in Annual Diesel Savings for Businesses
JMG Limited has strengthened its renewable energy offering with two hybrid solar projects expected to save more than ₦152 million annually in diesel costs while improving power reliability and reducing carbon emissions.
The projects, commissioned in the third quarter of 2026, include a 133.12kWp hybrid solar installation for La Chaumiere Group and a 66kWp system at JMG’s Victoria Island branch in Lagos.
The installations are designed to help businesses address rising diesel costs and unreliable electricity supply by combining solar power generation with battery storage and intelligent energy management.
At La Chaumiere Group, a premium culinary and hospitality company, JMG installed a system featuring 133.12kWp of solar photovoltaic capacity, 160kW hybrid inverters and 163.84kWh of high-voltage lithium battery storage.
The installation is projected to generate approximately 210.86MWh of clean electricity annually, meeting a significant portion of the company’s energy needs. It is also expected to cut diesel consumption by about 57,000 litres yearly, resulting in estimated fuel savings exceeding ₦102 million and preventing more than 76 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions.
Similarly, JMG’s Victoria Island branch now operates a 66kWp hybrid solar system equipped with 80kW hybrid inverters and 81.92kWh of lithium battery storage.
The system is expected to produce approximately 94.8MWh of clean electricity annually, supplying about 80 per cent of the branch’s energy requirements. It is also projected to reduce diesel consumption by approximately 28,000 litres each year, generating estimated savings of ₦50 million and avoiding more than 37 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions.
According to the company, both installations were developed using detailed energy consumption assessments and PVsyst simulations to determine the appropriate system capacity for each location.
The projects feature LONGi solar modules, Deye hybrid inverters and Deye high-voltage lithium battery storage, enabling the integration of solar generation, energy storage and intelligent power management.
Hussein Abbas, Head of Solar Division at JMG Limited, said the projects demonstrate how renewable energy can deliver both financial and operational benefits to businesses.
“Businesses need power they can depend on, but they also need solutions that make financial sense. These projects demonstrate that reliability, cost savings and sustainability do not have to be competing priorities. With the right system, businesses can reduce their dependence on diesel,
lower their energy costs and build a more sustainable power infrastructure. We are not only delivering these solutions to our customers; we are also putting them to work within our own operations,” Abbas said.
Beyond serving as an operational facility, the Victoria Island installation will function as a demonstration centre where customers, consultants and project developers can observe the hybrid solar technology in a real business environment and assess its potential application to their own energy requirements.
The projects highlight the growing role of renewable energy in helping businesses manage operating expenses, improve energy independence and achieve more predictable power supply amid Nigeria’s persistent electricity challenges.
JMG Limited provides turnkey solar and hybrid power solutions tailored to the energy requirements of different businesses, with a focus on reducing diesel dependence, controlling energy costs and improving power reliability.
