Rite Foods Limited has expanded its beverage portfolio with the introduction of LIDA Malt Classic, a new non-alcoholic malt beverage designed to offer consumers more choices in Nigeria’s competitive beverage market.
Built around the proposition, “LIDA Malt. Made for You,” the new product reflects the company’s consumer-focused approach to innovation, with emphasis on evolving preferences, product quality and everyday consumption occasions.
LIDA Malt Classic was unveiled to media representatives and content creators during a product immersion programme held at Rite Foods’ manufacturing facility in Ososa, Ijebu Ode, Ogun State, on October 15, 2026. The programme provided participants with an opportunity to experience the product and learn about the manufacturing operations behind the company’s expanding portfolio.
Speaking at the event, the Head of Corporate Affairs and Sustainability at Rite Foods Limited, Ekuma Eze, said the introduction of LIDA Malt demonstrates the company’s continued commitment to product development, quality and meeting changing consumer expectations.
He explained that the company’s innovation strategy was evident in its diverse portfolio, which includes Bigi Carbonated Soft Drinks, available in 13 variants; Bigi Premium Drinking Water; Sosa Fruit Drink, with five variants; and Fearless Energy Drink.
According to Eze, entering the malt beverage category represents another step in the company’s efforts to diversify its offerings while maintaining its focus on quality and locally manufactured products.
He added that Rite Foods continues to explore innovative ways of engaging consumers through brand experiences, manufacturing improvements and sustainability initiatives.
The company has used platforms such as Bigi’s Soundcity OnTour campus activation and Fearless Energy Drink’s participation in Felabration to connect with consumers through music, entertainment and youth culture.
In sustainability, Rite Foods operates the Waste-Is-Naira initiative in partnership with RecyclePoints, encouraging plastic waste recovery by creating economic value around recycling.
Eze also highlighted the importance of energy management to the company’s operational efficiency and long-term business sustainability.
He disclosed that approximately 95 per cent of the company’s energy consumption comes from natural gas and solar power, while diesel accounts for the remaining five per cent.
He noted that the company’s adoption of cleaner energy sources supports productivity, business continuity and its broader environmental responsibility objectives.
Also speaking, the Head of Marketing at Rite Foods Limited, Toyin Nnodi, said LIDA Malt was developed with consumers’ preferences, routines and expectations in mind.
She explained that the brand’s “Made for You” proposition reflects the company’s intention to create products that align with consumers’ everyday experiences and refreshment needs.
Nnodi added that the launch provides an opportunity for Rite Foods to extend its understanding of consumer preferences into another beverage category while establishing a distinctive brand identity.
She noted that LIDA Malt Classic was designed to offer consumers an additional beverage option suitable for different occasions, including meals, social gatherings and moments of refreshment.
The product is currently available in its Classic variant and packaged in polyethylene terephthalate (PET) bottles.
Beyond beverages, Rite Foods also manufactures food products, including Rite Spicy Beef, Bigi Beef and Bigi Flex Sausages, reflecting its presence across multiple segments of Nigeria’s food and beverage industry.
With the launch of LIDA Malt Classic, the company is extending its product portfolio while reinforcing its focus on consumer preferences, manufacturing capabilities and operational efficiency.
The introduction further underscores Rite Foods’ strategy of pursuing product diversification and developing locally manufactured offerings to meet changing market demands.
