Afrobeats star Adekunle Gold, through his Adekunle Gold Foundation, has partnered with global financial platform Pesa to commit $20,000 to four organisations supporting people living with sickle cell disease in Nigeria, Canada, Ghana and the United Kingdom.
The initiative, tagged We’re Not Done, is part of Pesa’s fifth-anniversary activities and aims to transform sickle cell awareness into practical assistance for organisations providing healthcare support, patient care, public education and advocacy.
The beneficiary organisations are the Sickle Cell Advocacy and Management Initiative (SAMI) in Nigeria, Not Just You in Canada, Sickle Life in Ghana and It Takes A Village in the United Kingdom.

Announcing the initiative on social media, Adekunle Gold said the partnership represents another step towards creating a lasting impact within the sickle cell community. He explained that the programme would help frontline organisations expand their reach and strengthen their efforts to support affected individuals and families.
According to the singer, We’re Not Done focuses on turning awareness into action by providing resources to organisations already working to improve the lives of people living with the condition.
Adekunle Gold, who has openly discussed his experience of living with sickle cell disease, established his foundation to promote awareness and improve the quality of life of affected individuals. Its activities include advocacy, research, community outreach and sickle cell management.
Through the collaboration, the foundation and Pesa aim to reinforce existing support programmes, improve access to assistance and foster greater cooperation among organisations working within the sickle cell community.

The initiative highlights the importance of complementing awareness campaigns with financial and practical support, particularly for organisations that work directly with people living with sickle cell disease and their families.
