The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (NCDC) has reported two suspected cases of Ebola disease in the North-East region of the country.
The agency disclosed this on Saturday, October 31, 2026, in a statement published on its official X account, confirming that both individuals had been isolated while investigations continue.
According to the NCDC, efforts are ongoing to identify and document individuals who may have had contact with the suspected cases. Laboratory testing is also underway to determine their status.
The agency emphasised that being classified as a suspected case does not mean an individual has been confirmed to have Ebola, stressing that confirmation depends on laboratory results.
It urged members of the public to maintain proper hand hygiene, observe good sanitation practices and adhere to public health guidelines.
The NCDC added that further updates would be provided as verified information becomes available.
