The achievement marks a significant milestone for the indigenous food and beverage manufacturer, reflecting its growing brand strength, consumer confidence and sustained relevance in Nigeria’s competitive market.
Since making its debut on the ranking, Rite Foods has maintained a consistent upward trajectory. The company moved from 50th position in 2021 to 44th in 2022, before recording a remarkable 14-place jump to 30th in 2023, emerging as the highest-gaining brand that year. It subsequently climbed to 27th in 2024, 22nd in 2025 and now 17th in 2026.
The latest performance represents an overall improvement of 27 positions since 2021, while its brand strength score increased by five per cent year-on-year to 58 per cent.
The ranking also highlights the growing competitiveness of indigenous businesses in Nigeria’s consumer market. Of the 50 brands recognised in the 2026 edition, 27 are Nigerian-owned, compared with 23 multinational brands.
Rite Foods further distinguished itself by securing fourth position in the Brand Nigeria Mentality category, behind Dangote, MTN and OPay.
The company’s steady progress has been attributed to its continued investment in product quality, innovation, technological advancement and consumer engagement, alongside its commitment to developing products that align with the changing preferences of Nigerians.
Its expanding product portfolio includes LIDA Malt Classic, its recently introduced malt beverage; Bigi Carbonated Soft Drinks, available in 13 variants; Bigi Table Water; Fearless Energy Drink; Sosa Fruit Drink; Rite Spicy; and Bigi and Bigi Flex Sausage Rolls.
Through these brands, the company continues to serve different consumer segments and everyday needs, further strengthening its presence in Nigeria’s food and beverage industry.
Beyond its market performance, Rite Foods’ growth underscores the contribution of indigenous manufacturing to Nigeria’s economic development, particularly at a time when local businesses face considerable operational and economic challenges.
The company’s investments in production facilities, technology, distribution networks and local expertise have supported its expansion while creating value for employees, suppliers, distributors and retailers across its business network.
Speaking on the achievement, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Rite Foods Limited, Mr Seleem Adegunwa, attributed the company’s progress to its unwavering commitment to quality, technological advancement and the development of products capable of competing favourably in the global market.
He explained that the recognition reflected the collective dedication of the company’s workforce, the continued trust of consumers and business partners, as well as the resilience of Nigerians, which inspires the organisation to continually improve its standards.
Adegunwa also reaffirmed the company’s commitment to quality, innovation and community impact, noting that these principles remain central to its ambition of building a resilient and globally competitive Nigerian enterprise.
The 2026 Top 50 Brands Nigeria Ranking was unveiled at the Brand Nigeria Leadership Forum in Lagos. The assessment considers several indicators, including consumer recall, sentiment, engagement and other measures of brand strength, to determine the visibility, relevance and reputation of brands among Nigerians.
For Rite Foods, its entry into the top 20 represents more than an improvement in its ranking, highlighting the confidence it has established among consumers, the growing relevance of its products and its consistent delivery of value.
The latest recognition further reinforces the company’s ambition to expand its market presence, strengthen its product portfolio and build brands capable of competing internationally while contributing to Nigeria’s industrial and economic development.
