Stanbic IBTC Holdings Plc, a member of the Standard Bank Group, has emerged as a multiple award winner at the prestigious 2026 Euromoney Awards for Excellence, securing four major honours in recognition of its outstanding performance across key areas of banking and financial services.
The financial institution was named Best Bank for Sustainable Finance, Best Bank for Consumer Lending, Best Bank for Mortgages/Home Loans, and Best Bank for Securities Services at this year’s awards, which celebrate excellence and innovation across global and regional financial markets.
Reacting to the achievement, Chief Executive of Stanbic IBTC Holdings, Chuma Nwokocha, described the recognition as a testament to the Group’s commitment to delivering value-driven financial solutions.
“We are pleased to have been named winner in these categories at the Euromoney Awards for Excellence 2026. These are important areas of our business and remain central to how we support individuals, businesses and institutional clients across Nigeria.

Also commenting, Chief Executive of Stanbic IBTC Bank, Wole Adeniyi, said the institution remains committed to meeting the evolving needs of its diverse customer base.

Stanbic IBTC’s strong performance was also reflected in its 2025 financial results. The Group reported total assets of ₦8.62 trillion, customer deposits of ₦4.37 trillion, and net customer loans and advances of ₦2.38 trillion. Total income stood at ₦895.7 billion, while return on equity reached 42.4 per cent.
The Group also recorded significant progress in its sustainability agenda. According to its 2025 sustainability disclosures, Stanbic IBTC disbursed ₦277.3 billion in sustainable loans, representing a 60 per cent increase over the previous year. It also provided ₦76.4 billion in loans to 2,862 small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) during the financial year.
Stanbic IBTC said its sustainability strategy is built around three key pillars: driving sustainable industrialisation, facilitating sustainable trade, and promoting equitable access to finance. The Group also prioritises four impact areas—job creation and enterprise growth, infrastructure development and energy transition, climate change mitigation and adaptation, and financial inclusion.
In the consumer lending and mortgage segments, the bank continues to expand access to financing for individuals and households through customer-focused products and services.
Its securities services business also remains a key player in Nigeria’s capital market, providing institutional clients with custody, settlement, corporate actions, securities lending, reconciliation, reporting, foreign exchange processing, and other investor support services.
With its latest recognition at the Euromoney Awards, Stanbic IBTC has reaffirmed its commitment to delivering innovative, sustainable, and customer-focused financial solutions while supporting economic growth and development across Nigeria.
