The Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF) has strengthened its support for frontline public safety agencies with the donation of 300 raincoats to the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), aimed at improving the welfare and operational efficiency of traffic personnel during the rainy season.
The raincoats were presented on behalf of the Executive Secretary/Chief Executive Officer of LSSTF, Dr. Ayodele Ogunsan, by Mrs. Adaobi Nwankwo, Executive Assistant, LSSTF. The gesture highlights the Fund’s continued commitment to equipping security and traffic management agencies with essential resources needed to deliver effective services under challenging weather conditions.
The intervention is part of LSSTF’s broader efforts to support the Lagos State Government’s initiatives in enhancing public safety, easing traffic management, improving mobility and strengthening emergency response mechanisms across the state.
Receiving the items on behalf of the LASTMA General Manager, Mr. Olalekan Bakare-Oki, was the Zonal Head, Alausa, Ms. Ayilaran Olubunmi Mercy, who commended the timely support and described it as a valuable contribution to the agency’s operations. Also present during the presentation was Mr. Ibitoye A. Bola, Traffic Officer, LASTMA.

es more effectively, maintain a strong presence on Lagos roads, respond swiftly to traffic incidents and ensure smoother movement of people and goods despite adverse weather conditions.
The initiative further underscores the importance of traffic management personnel in sustaining order and mobility in Lagos, one of Africa’s busiest metropolitan areas.
Under the leadership of Dr. Ayodele Ogunsan, the LSSTF has continued to make strategic investments in operational vehicles, protective equipment, technology and capacity-building programmes aimed at strengthening security and public safety agencies across Lagos State.
