The Leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has linked the recent resignation of Tanzania’s Vice President, Emmanuel Nchimbi, and severe flooding in Nepal to earlier prophecies he made about the two countries.
Nchimbi announced his resignation on August 25, 2026, saying he would retire from politics and public service, with the decision taking effect on September 4. He said he had become convinced that President Samia Suluhu Hassan wanted a different vice president and was therefore fulfilling a commitment he had previously made to her.
According to reports highlighting Ayodele’s predictions, the cleric had earlier warned that Tanzania’s president would lose some key members of her government.
In his 2026 prophecy book, Warnings to the Nations, Ayodele reportedly said Tanzania could experience political and economic difficulties and that the president would lose key members of her cabinet. The recent departure of Nchimbi is being cited by his supporters as a fulfilment of that prediction.
Nchimbi’s resignation has attracted considerable attention in Tanzania, coming less than a year after he assumed office. The development has also raised questions about political tensions within the ruling Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) and the country’s broader democratic environment.
Ayodele’s supporters have also pointed to developments in Nepal, where severe flooding and landslides have reportedly caused significant loss of life and displaced communities.
The cleric had earlier warned of excessive flooding and other natural disasters in Nepal in his 2026 predictions. The latest flooding has consequently been presented by his followers as another instance of his prophecy coming to pass.
However, claims that these events constitute fulfilment of prophecies remain matters of religious interpretation and cannot be independently established as causal predictions. The developments themselves are factual, while the connection between them and earlier prophecies is a claim made by Ayodele and his supporters.
The latest developments have nevertheless renewed public attention on the cleric’s long-running practice of making predictions on political, economic and social developments across different countries.
As Tanzania moves towards appointing a new vice president and Nepal continues to deal with the consequences of severe flooding, the two developments remain significant events attracting attention across Africa and beyond.
