LagRide has announced a new training session for aspiring professional Captains under its LagRide Academy as part of efforts to expand its driver network and strengthen professional standards across Lagos.
The training programme is scheduled to commence on Thursday, September 3, 2026, at the LagRide Hub, 31 Mobolaji Johnson Avenue, Alausa, Ikeja, Lagos.
The academy is designed to equip prospective Captains with the knowledge and practical skills required to provide safe, reliable and professional transportation services to passengers.
Training at the LagRide Academy covers key areas including road safety, professional conduct, customer service, passenger experience and the standards expected of Captains operating on the platform.
The programme also provides participants with practical insights from experienced Captains and trainers, helping prospective drivers understand the responsibilities involved in representing the LagRide brand on the road.
The latest training initiative comes as LagRide continues to expand its operations across Lagos. The mobility platform recently announced plans to deploy 400 additional vehicles and mobilise more than 1,000 new Captains between September and December 2026 in preparation for increased transportation demand during the Ember Months.
LagRide currently has more than 2,000 vehicles operating across Lagos, with further deployments planned as the company expands its coverage and improves ride availability across different parts of the state.
The company has also continued to position professional training as an important part of its Captain onboarding process. Recent LagRide Academy sessions have involved internal trainers, representatives of the Lagos State Drivers Institute (LASDRI) and experienced Captains, with emphasis on road safety, professionalism and passenger experience.
The September training is therefore expected to provide another opportunity for qualified prospective Captains to undergo the necessary preparation before joining the platform.
With growing demand for mobility services in Lagos, LagRide said strengthening the capacity and professionalism of its Captain network remains central to its objective of providing safe and dependable transportation services across the state.
