Fidelity Bank has highlighted the role of mobile banking in simplifying everyday financial transactions, enabling customers to manage their finances, pay bills and transfer money without necessarily visiting a physical bank branch.
The bank noted that digital banking offers customers greater flexibility in handling routine financial responsibilities while balancing work, business activities and family commitments.
According to the bank, mobile banking helps reduce the time and effort associated with traditional banking, where customers may have to contend with traffic, travel expenses and queues to complete basic transactions.
While physical branches remain important for financial advice, documentation and complex banking needs, many routine transactions can now be completed through digital platforms.
The Fidelity Mobile App provides customers with access to several banking services, including money transfers, airtime purchases, bill payments, balance enquiries, mini statements, debit card requests and selected cross-border payments.
These services allow customers to handle financial needs conveniently, whether they are paying suppliers, supporting relatives, purchasing airtime or checking whether a transaction has been completed.
The app also enables customers to review beneficiary details before authorising transfers and examine recent account activity to support informed financial decisions.
For eligible customers, the platform provides an option to initiate debit card requests digitally by selecting an account, choosing an available card option and supplying the required delivery information, subject to applicable terms and conditions.
Beyond routine transactions, Fidelity Bank is encouraging customers to explore the broader range of services available through its mobile banking platform rather than using it exclusively for money transfers.
The bank explained that customers could also use supported bill payment services, monitor account activity and access other available features to manage their financial needs more efficiently.
The Fidelity Mobile App also provides eligible customers with access to the Pan-African Payment and Settlement System (PAPSS), which facilitates supported cross-border payments across participating African markets.
Through the system, eligible payments can be initiated in naira, while beneficiaries receive the applicable local currency in their countries, subject to available payment corridors, transaction requirements and charges.
The service can support qualifying business payments, educational obligations and family support across participating African markets.
However, the bank emphasised that convenience must go hand in hand with security, urging customers to protect their banking credentials and exercise caution when conducting digital transactions.
Customers are advised to download or update the Fidelity Mobile App only through official application stores, keep their personal identification numbers and login details confidential, and never disclose one-time passwords to other people.
They are also encouraged to verify beneficiary names, transaction amounts and payment references before authorising transactions, while regularly reviewing their account activity for unfamiliar entries.
The bank noted that customers who identify suspicious transactions should promptly seek assistance through its official customer service channels.
Fidelity Bank further explained that mobile banking complements rather than replaces traditional banking services, giving customers the flexibility to choose the most suitable channel for their needs.
While mobile applications can handle many routine transactions, physical branches, relationship managers and USSD services remain useful alternatives for customers requiring additional support or access to different banking options.
Ultimately, the value of mobile banking lies in its ability to make financial services more accessible while giving customers greater control over their time and daily responsibilities.
By expanding awareness and adoption of its digital banking services, Fidelity Bank aims to make everyday transactions more convenient, allowing customers to focus more on their businesses, families and other priorities.
