Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State commissioned multiple projects in Lagos Island East Local Council Development Area (LCDA), including the Eyo Iduntafa Palace, as part of efforts to boost grassroots development and cultural preservation.
The commissioned projects include the Prince Tajudeen Oluyole Olusi Island Golden Court, Lagos State Neighbourhood Safety Corps Operational Base, Senator Oluremi Tinubu Shopping Mall, Babajide Olusola Aduragbemi Sanwo-Olu Administrative Building, and several other facilities aimed at enhancing public service delivery and local entrepreneurship.
Sanwo-Olu emphasized his administration’s commitment to inclusive governance, innovation, and community growth, praising council chairman Hon. Muibi Alade Folawiyo for delivering tangible dividends of democracy to the people.
The governor also launched the E-Birth registration initiative, a collaboration with the National Population Commission (NPC) and UNICEF, to assign National Identification Numbers (NIN) to children from birth, strengthening data management and government planning.
Sanwo-Olu highlighted Lagos’ rich cultural heritage, using the Eyo Festival as an example, stating that the event showcases the state’s cultural depth and tourism potential.
The Eyo Festival, held in honor of four eminent Lagosians, is a celebration of unity, peace, and brotherhood, aligning with President Bola Tinubu’s call for a safe and harmonious festival.
