Controversial singer Habeeb “Portable” Badmus has rejected his unanimous-decision loss to online streamer Carter Efe, claiming he was “robbed” at the _Chaos in the Ring 4_ celebrity boxing event held early Saturday at Balmoral Hall, Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos. All three judges scored the bout 27–30 in favor of Efe, ending Portable’s reign as celebrity boxing champion.
Moments after the fight, Portable went live on Instagram to dispute the result and blast the organizers. “I was robbed. Carter Efe was not professional enough. He was strangling with his long hands and height. I threw him many punches, why didn’t you people count them? Any blow that I threw to him ought to count even if it meets him on the shoulder or hand,” he said. He accused Efe of wrestling instead of boxing and said officials ignored his work.
Portable also questioned the matchmaking itself, arguing the physical mismatch was unfair from the start. “Carter Efe was just holding my neck. I was punching him too but you people are not talking about that. They knew he was tall and had long hands but still put him in a boxing match with me,” he added. The singer insisted Efe’s reach and height gave him an illegal advantage that referees failed to manage.
Beyond the scoring, Portable demanded immediate payment of what he called his “stream money.” He told organizers: “And to the organisers, I want my stream money amounting to about N200 million. Just give me my money before I cause trouble”. He repeated the N200m demand across multiple posts, threatening consequences if the payment wasn’t made.
The fight itself was largely one-sided, according to ringside reports. Carter Efe controlled the bout from the opening round with disciplined movement, sharp combinations, and sustained pressure, while Portable showed aggression but couldn’t penetrate Efe’s defense. Efe later described the contest as “so easy,” saying he swelled Portable’s face in round one and dropped him by round three. Afterward, he dubbed himself “Carter Mayweather” and said he wants to take his boxing “international”.
The loss marks Portable’s first defeat in the celebrity boxing circuit. He previously beat actor Charles Okocha in December 2023, Kizz Daniel’s bodyguard Kelvin Power in February 2024, and Speed Darlington in April 2025. Heading into Friday’s event, Portable had boasted he was the “face of Nigerian boxing” and even dared Anthony Joshua to a N1 billion showdown.
Despite the defeat and the accusations, Portable said the belt means little compared to family news he received that night. “My wife just gave birth to a bouncing baby boy. I value that more than a belt. You can buy the belt but not my child,” he said. He added, “You can only buy a belt with money, but a child cannot be bought”.
Efe, meanwhile, walked away with bragging rights and a promised N50 million from socialite E-Money, who had pledged the sum if Efe won. Balmoral Group Promotions CEO Ezekiel Adamu said the event delivered “very entertaining fights” and promised more to come. The card also featured pro bouts, with Godday Appah winning the WBO Africa cruiserweight title.
Portable has not confirmed whether he will seek a rematch. For now, he maintains he was robbed and wants his N200m stream share, while Carter Efe is celebrating a clean 3-0 debut and eyeing bigger stages.
