The Commander of the Enugu State Forest Guards, DCP (Dr.) Olasoji Akinbayo (rtd), has approved the appointment of Miss Uliaga Geraldine Chiagozie as the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Command, in a move aimed at strengthening communication, public engagement and institutional visibility.
The appointment, according to the National Association of Online Security News Publishers (NAOSNP), is part of efforts by the Command to establish a more effective communication structure that will enhance public confidence, promote transparency and deepen collaboration between the Forest Guards and residents of Enugu State in the collective effort to tackle insecurity.
A native of Igbo-Etiti Local Government Area of Enugu State, Miss Uliaga was born on May 12, 1992, and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Education (English Education). Her academic background and communication expertise are expected to contribute significantly to projecting the activities of the Command, while improving engagement with stakeholders, the media and the general public.
In a statement made available to NAOSNP, Commander Akinbayo described effective communication as a vital component of modern security management, stressing that public trust is built through openness, timely dissemination of information and responsible engagement.
He charged the newly appointed PRO to carry out her duties with professionalism, integrity and commitment, while serving as the public face of the Command.
According to him, “Your appointment comes with the responsibility of representing the Command to the public. You must ensure that accurate information is communicated promptly, promote the positive image of the Forest Guards, strengthen public confidence in our operations and support our mission of protecting lives, forests and communities across Enugu State through effective communication and responsible public engagement.”
Responding to her appointment, Miss Uliaga expressed gratitude to the Commander for the confidence placed in her, assuring that she would justify the trust through dedication, professionalism and commitment to advancing the vision and objectives of the Enugu State Forest Guards.
Her appointment takes immediate effect.
